Around 400 participants at the Diplomatic Business Forum 2026 discussed international trade, investment, non-commodity exports, production localization, and technological cooperation with Kazakhstan.
One of the key events on the first day of HomeTech & Electra 2026 was the Diplomatic Business Forum, which brought together representatives from the public sector, the business community, development institutions, international organizations, and the diplomatic corps.
Representatives from the diplomatic missions of the USA, Hungary, China, Germany, the Czech Republic, Singapore, and Nigeria participated in the international program.
The forum focused on key topics such as economic diplomacy, international trade, investment, non-commodity exports, the entry of Kazakhstani businesses into foreign markets, industrial cooperation, and localization.
Particular attention was paid to technology transfer and the establishment of joint ventures.
Ainur Amirbekova, Deputy Director General of QazTrade Center for Trade Policy Development JSC, presented tools for supporting non-commodity exports to international participants. These include export acceleration programs, trade and economic missions, analytical support, and digital tools for promoting Kazakhstan's products.
The forum’s agenda focused on practical opportunities for Kazakhstani companies to enter new markets and develop international business ties. A dedicated session addressed the investment potential of the Almaty Region.
Aibol Rakhymbayev, Head of the Almaty Region’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Industrial-Innovative Development, presented details on 77 projects involving foreign participation, with a combined value exceeding 4.7 trillion tenge.
The implementation of these projects is expected to create more than 65,000 jobs.
Bauyrzhan Ermekbayev, a representative of the Almaty Region Regional Development Center, presented the "Alatau Invest" initiative to the international audience. Ruslan Barmashev, Managing Director for IT at the Almaty City Development Center JSC, outlined the forum's technology agenda. During the presentation titled "Smart City Almaty: Data and Digital Infrastructure," international participants were introduced to the city's data platform, digital twin, and situational center, as well as digital solutions for transport, utilities, construction, environmental protection, and public safety.
Following the Diplomatic Business Forum, representatives of diplomatic missions expressed interest in helping to attract manufacturers and companies from their respective countries to participate in HomeTech & Electra 2027.
Following the event, engagement with foreign business entities and diplomatic missions continued. Notably, on August 15, 2026, the exhibition organizer – World Silk Way LLP – along with KazYouthDiplomacy and Saudi Arabia’s B Line Holding, signed a trilateral framework agreement on strategic cooperation and the development of international projects.
